The client

Allia Impact catalyses the growth of mission-led businesses from start to scale. Through expert support, funding, mentoring and strategic connections, we help entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses that deliver both commercial success and meaningful social impact. By supporting founders solving real-world challenges, we’re helping to create stronger communities, drive inclusive growth, and build a more sustainable economy.

Allia Impact is part of the Allia Group, which is owned by its parent charity, Allia Foundation. Profits distributed to the Foundation from across the Group are reinvested as grants, enabling it to deliver free training programmes for aspiring entrepreneurs. Social is the strategic communications partner for Allia Group, supporting the development of the Group’s narrative and messaging, alongside providing ad hoc communications counsel across its other businesses.

The challenge

After a period of sustained growth, Allia Impact required more of a web presence of its own, having previously managed a relatively small section of the wider Allia website. This meant it did not have the space to share its story or reflect on the breadth of delivery and impact.

It needed a digital home that could bring to life all the work it does with entrepreneurs, funders, corporate partners and investors across the impact ecosystem, all in one place in a clear and compelling way.

Allia Impact needed a website that reflected the organisation it is today, while giving it the platform and flexibility to support where it wanted to go next.

The solution

From the outset, Social’s team took the time to understand Allia Impact, what makes it different and which audiences its website needed to reach. This was a collaborative process that focused on how it would tell its story and involved structuring a broad range of digital activity while keeping the message as clear as possible for someone encountering Allia Impact for the first time.

We conducted a discovery phase to identify potential user needs and define the website requirements accordingly, ensuring that the solution aligned with business goals. This included facilitating discovery sessions with internal stakeholders, including senior leaders, programme delivery teams and operational staff, as well as conducting a detailed competitor and sector review.

From here, we developed the website information architecture, including sitemap and navigation structure, to create a clear and intuitive user journey. We provided creative direction on site structure, page layouts, user journeys and overall visual experience, ensuring content could be presented clearly and intuitively for a wide range of audiences.

We created multiple design concepts and collaborated with Allia Impact to refine the preferred approach through regular feedback and review sessions, ensuring that we produced a visual experience that aligned with the existing brand while giving it a distinctive look and feel.

Regular communication was maintained throughout the project, sharing progress updates and gathering feedback, and the delivered website managed to balance user experience, brand consistency and business objectives to support visitor engagement and lead generation.

We worked closely with the marketing team to define the most effective language, tone of voice and messaging framework, ensuring the website reflected Allia Impact’s values, while also supporting engagement goals.

The final website strategically combined insights, audience requirements and business priorities, balancing digital best practice with ideas from the client team and bringing together strategic thinking, UX and creative design to create a distinctive site that works both aesthetically and functionally.

The impact

Allia Impact now has a digital presence that fully represents its scale, quality and ambition. Entrepreneurs can now understand the support available much more easily, as well as finding opportunities that are relevant to them, while the impact of this work is told much more richly and clearly for funders, partners and other stakeholders.

This gives the team a much stronger platform for programme recruitment, partnerships, fundraising and communications, as well as giving Allia Impact a digital presence that can grow as it continues to grow.
