Cheshire and Warrington Combined Authority launch conference
When the Cheshire and Warrington Combined Authority was established in 2026, Social was appointed to deliver its inaugural conference, creating a landmark moment for one of England’s newest devolved regions. We developed the event from the ground up, shaping the programme, managing more than 30 speakers, overseeing delegate communications and coordinating on-site delivery at Alderley Park.
The conference brought together 255 delegates from across business, government and the public sector, including speakers such as Lord Stockwood, Dr Hannah White OBE, Juergen Maier and Huw Merriman, chaired by broadcaster Louise Minchin. Demand exceeded venue capacity, requiring careful management of a waiting list and demonstrating strong interest from stakeholders across the region.
Through an integrated programme of event management, stakeholder engagement and media relations, we positioned the Combined Authority as a confident new voice for the region, generating 25 pieces of coverage, achieving an estimated reach of 6.29 million and building momentum behind its ambitions for growth, investment and devolution.
South Village groundbreaking
On behalf of Caddick, we co-ordinated a groundbreaking ceremony at its 2,000 home South Village development on Leeds’ South Bank. Our role involved securing key senior stakeholders from organisations including Homes England, Leeds City Council and WYCA, capturing photography to mark key moments, and supporting the event with an integrated communications campaign across media, social media and owned stakeholder channels.
The event helped position South Village as a significant regeneration project for the city, generating 50 pieces of coverage with a combined reach of 122m and resulting in a subsequent ministerial visit from then-Housing Secretary, Rt Hon Steve Reed OBE.
Launching Allia Impact’s report
We supported Allia Impact in launching Business for Impact, a new national community connecting founders, businesses, investors, universities, charities and policymakers committed to creating positive social, environmental and economic change.
Our role included strategic counsel, stakeholder engagement, managing invitations and registrations, and securing media attendance. The event was strategically timed to follow the publication of ‘The Impact Business Tipping Point’, the first comprehensive census of the UK’s mission-led business landscape from Allia Impact and Beauhurst Insights, for which Social led the media launch campaign.
The event brought together 80 influential stakeholders, including The Rt Hon Sir Stephen Timms MP, Minister of State for Social Security and Disability, alongside media such as Pioneers Post. By creating a platform to explore the report’s findings and importance of cross-sector collaboration, the event helped drive interest in Business for Impact memberships and further strengthen Allia Impact’s position at the heart of the UK’s growing impact economy.
Helping Y-PERN set the academic-policy agenda
The Yorkshire & Humber Policy Engagement and Research Network (Y-PERN) appointed Social to help organise its 2025 conference, which had a venue but nothing else arranged. We managed the delivery from end-to-end, arranging regular client check-ins and producing detailed Gantt charts to keep the project on track.
In developing the agenda, we ensured balanced representation across Yorkshire’s sub-regions as well as from the academic and policymaking communities, reflecting Y-PERN’s collaborative spirit. Using our stakeholder networks we secured high profile speakers including Harpreet Uppal, MP for Huddersfield, and Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire – all of whom were fully briefed by our team.
The conference attracted 197 attendees from the academic, public, private and third sectors and was widely praised for its organisation and the calibre of its 19 speakers.
Positioning YNYCA as a leading destination for investment at UKREiiF
As York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority (YNYCA) attended its biggest UKREiiF yet in 2026, Social was appointed to help showcase the region as a destination for investment, growth and innovation among key decision-makers. Working alongside the Combined Authority, we delivered a strategic programme of stakeholder engagement, event management, pavilion branding and content development.
This included creating and managing a dedicated pavilion featuring a programme of 10 panel discussions and events, bringing together 55 speakers from organisations including Homes England, Anglo American, Radisson, Schneider Electric, McLaren and the National Wealth Fund.
The pavilion attracted 567 unique delegates, with more than 40 investors and funders engaging directly with the team. Through a combination of compelling content, targeted engagement and standout branding, we helped position York and North Yorkshire as a region “open for business”, significantly strengthening relationships with investors, government representatives and senior decision-makers in the process.
