Supporting businesses through Brexit

The Growth Company and GC Business Growth Hub

With or without a deal, in autumn 2019, GC Business Growth Hub identified that a high number of SMEs in Greater Manchester could potentially be negatively affected by Brexit and were possibly under prepared.

With a Brexit Toolkit ready, the Hub needed a B2B campaign to drive businesses to the website and to help raise awareness of the wider business support and services it offers to all Greater Manchester SME businesses.

The idea

The ‘Grow Beyond Brexit’ campaign positioned the GC Business Growth Hub as the go to experts to help prepare SME businesses across Greater Manchester for resilience, stability and potential growth before Brexit, and more importantly, life after exiting the EU.

The campaign included animated banner and leaderboard ads, paid social media, native blog content and PR all designed to maximise impact and highlighting the extensive support offering available to businesses as they prepare for life beyond Brexit.  To complement the campaign a series of offline materials were developed to use at events that GC Business Growth Hub had run or attended across the region.

The campaign call to action encouraged SMEs to find out more about what they need to be doing pre and post Brexit to gain best advice and if needed to make direct contact with the Hub to gain specific advice.

What we delivered

The campaign focused on direct positive messages highlighting the GC Business Growth Hub and wider Growth Company offer available to SMEs for all aspects of business readiness and support related to Brexit. The campaign delivered high volumes of impressions and drove direct traffic to the Hub website and Brexit Toolkit.

We were very impressed with Social’s initial response and immediately selected their proposed ‘Grow Beyond Brexit’ theme and creative campaign as it was clear, on message and achieved all the campaign objectives, including raising awareness of the Hub and our extensive support and services.

The development of the campaign designs and content across multiple digital and print elements were quickly and effectively developed and deployed by Social in a very compressed timeframe, and we gained cut through and positive engagement and feedback on the campaign.
