Delivering a targeted awareness campaign


Mace is an international construction and consultancy company. The team wanted to raise the profile of the business and its key spokespeople across the North of England to support their new business pipeline. Mace felt that the breadth and depth of its expertise in the North of England was not fully celebrated or recognised by key audiences.  The company believed it risked missing out on potential new opportunities as result.

The idea

Our aim was to establish Mace’s geographical reach and the breadth of its expertise across the north to support its new business pipeline. We created a stakeholder database, to identify and influence key people and organisations, in partnership with the Mace team. We researched opportunities to reach out to these individuals and organisations and set out a plan of key meetings, events, industry dinners, as well as placing stories about Mace in national, regional and trade publications.

What we delivered

Our media activity highlighted Mace’s expertise and thought leadership on a range of issues from its successful redevelopment of Birmingham New Street Station, to its role in the Northern Powerhouse Partnership, and the expansion of Heathrow. On the latter, we secured live television and radio interviews with BBC News, Sky News and Radio 5 Live.

In the space of five months the campaign secured:

  • 37 high-quality pieces of coverage including national coverage on BBC News, Sky News and 5 Live.
  • Positive engagement with key target clients and helped establish Mace as a respected expert on policy, property and infrastructure across the North.
