The charity Feeding Bristol had evidence that tens of thousands of Bristol children faced going hungry during the 2019 summer holidays, once free school meals stopped for six weeks. When a bid for government funding to provide food for children across the city failed, they turned to Social for help. They wanted to raise awareness within Bristol’s business community of the need to provide funding and volunteer support for the charity’s ‘healthy holidays’ campaign.
We supported Feeding Bristol with the launch of their campaign in May 2019. Our help included developing compelling key messages which were used to brief stakeholders, organising a media launch, providing regular updates on the campaign to the media, and providing a programme of social media content.
Our support in May and June 2019 generated extensive media and online coverage, including in The Bristol Post, and BBC Online. The campaign generated nine pieces of coverage with a combined reach of more than 1m across online, print and broadcast media.
This helped the campaign surpass its £100,000 funding target, with more than 50 businesses pledging their support. This helped ensure that Feeding Bristol were able to provide more than 50,000 meals during the summer holidays.

It’s been a pleasure to work with the team from Social. It’s been a seamless process and the end product was exactly as we briefed.
