Visual content is the most engaging form of content to effectively convey your brand across the social media landscape. Although what’s the point in creating great thumb-stopping content if it doesn’t fit the platform? By uploading an asset that doesn’t quite match the recommended dimensions, images may appear slightly cropped in a user’s newsfeed. That important copy you spent days chasing to get signed-off, or even the brand’s logo may be lost out of the display frame.
That’s why I’ve put together the most up-to-date social media image sizes in this cheat sheet:
With over 2.7 billion active users, posting an image with the incorrect size could cause you to completely miss the mark on the largest social network worldwide.
- Profile picture size: 180 x 180
- Cover photo size: 820 x 462 (displays at 820 x 312 on desktop and 640 x 360 on mobile)
- Image size: 1200 x 630
- Link size: 1200 x 628
- Event cover photo size: 1920 x 1080
- Facebook Stories: 1080 x 1920
