Social Media Executive

Based in our Manchester Northern Quarter office and reporting to our Group Social Media Manager, we’re looking for someone with a hands on approach and a driven, can do attitude.

The best social media campaigns are those that perfectly combine creative flair with data driven insight, so it’s really important that you have a creative mindset, strong copywriting skills and are an analytical thinker, too.

Role and responsibilities

  • Create and distribute compelling social content for clients and Social alike
  • Assist in the execution and on-going optimisation of campaign and channel activity on social media
  • Manage a suite of client content calendars, taking responsibility for content writing and implementation
  • Report on client social media activity, including written commentary and insights
  • Assist in managing the mix of content across channels to hit key content pillars and drive maximum engagement
  • Write strong creative briefs, taking the lead on translating client objectives into engaging and relevant asset ideas
  • Monitor users’ engagement and lead community management
  • Build strong relationships with clients, joining client calls & meetings
  • Contribute to team brainstorms and idea generation for content, brand initiatives and new business campaigns
  • Liaise with regional Account Managers to quickly identify and act on reactive client opportunities
  • Be current across all new emerging technologies and social communities
  • Undertake research in order to give insights into new or existing markets, new social channels and competitor activity

Key qualifications, skills and experience

  • An expert understanding of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat and TikTok (front and back end)
  • Strong copywriting skills with a flexible and engaging writing style
  • Day-to-day social media posting and engagement experience
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Have an eye for great design and an innate understanding to recognise good content
  • Ability to work under pressure and at a fast pace
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • First class written and verbal communication skills
  • Work to tight deadlines with a can-do attitude
  • An understanding of paid social advertising, particularly Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn (desirable)
  • Experience using programmes such as Hootsuite, AgoraPulse and Smartly (desirable)
  • Experience working in a social media role (desirable)
