Social is looking for a Senior Account Manager with a knack for media relations, excellent writing skills and top-notch client relationship management to join our growing team.

We’re now looking for someone with the ambition and drive to help us deliver our growth plans over the coming years and become an indispensable part of the team.

You’ll be an excellent writer, with great media relations skills and a passion for securing quality media coverage – including being able to spot a story and pitch confidently.

You’ll enjoy getting stuck into sectors that make a difference, providing trusted counsel to our clients and taking on multiple accounts. You’ll have experience in shaping and executing communications strategies, and the ability to deliver creative and thoughtful campaigns and projects that deliver results.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

· Managing a portfolio of client accounts and working and collaborating with the lead director/s and account team

· Offering counsel to clients

· Identifying and developing thought leadership and comment opportunities for your clients, and writing outstanding press releases

· Exemplary account management – keeping PR trackers, job costing and invoice trackers, coverage trackers up to date ready for client meetings and updated post client meetings e.g. contemporaneously to support collaborative working across our teams

· Achieving exceptional outcomes for clients

· Contributing to daily meetings, and liaising and updating clients on PR activities

· Using Gorkana or equivalent platform for journalist outreach, compiling media lists, issuing press releases

· Keeping abreast of current PR trends and tools

· Building client relationships and maintaining a network of media contacts including journalists and industry spokespeople

· Spearheading both traditional PR and social media projects

· Developing news angles, stories and pitches to further the client’s profile, products and services.

· Fulfilling the client’s key performance indicators and growing accounts

· Being involved in pitching for new business and developing PR proposals

· Managing and mentoring junior members of staff

· Championing the agency values and brand

Key skills:

· Excellent writing skills and experience of producing bespoke content for different audiences

· Adept at media relations: from spotting angles to selling in stories

· The ability to think strategically about your clients’ aims and ambitions

· High standard of professionalism when engaging with clients and other contacts

· The aptitude to get your head around topics quickly

You will be:

· A genuine team-player, focussed on collective effort for collective reward

· A self-starter, who can work independently, whist remaining a key part of the team

· A strong ability to project manage, to deliver our clients work to a very high standard and to deadline, whilst remaining unflustered.

· Have ambitions to integrate and ultimately manage a team to support the delivery of your work

Desirable traits:

· Experience in property, housing, place, public sector or financial services PR

· Experience in ESG and sustainability

· A broad understanding of the political challenges facing the U.K

· An understanding of / interest in political landscapes and an appreciation of stakeholder communications
