Based in our Manchester office and reporting to the Head of Finance, we are looking for a skilled Assistant Management Accountant for a 12-month maternity cover period. This is a fantastic career development opportunity to join a dynamic and passionate team.

Your main responsibilities will be to

  • Support of the Accounts Receivable function, liaising monthly with senior management to confirm client billing, client recharges and raising of sales invoices
  • Upload and posting of purchase transactions
  • Updating the senior management team weekly on outstanding debtors
  • Assisting with pulling together the management accounts pack including P&L workings (accruals and prepayments), balance sheet reconciliations and posting of journals
  • Creating and maintaining the fixed assets list
  • Reviewing our time recording system and liaising with different departments to ensure accuracy
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting templates and operating detailed models on Excel
  • Calculation & submission of benefits in kind for P11D returns
  • General finance duties to assist the Head of Finance as required
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the relevant financial regulations, policies, and procedures

Key skills

  • Build and maintain good relationships with colleagues across Social to ensure financial information is accurate and is understood by all parties
  • Excellent communication: oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills (Excel advance – VLOOKUP, pivot tables etc.)
  • Ability to prioritise responsibilities under pressure and be self-motivating whilst working to deadlines
  • Review processes and ways of working to recommend and implement improvements in the effectiveness, efficiency, and consistency of the Finance function
  • Ability to generate innovative solutions in response to challenges and articulate these sharing both implications and benefits

You will ideally be

  • The successful candidate must have relevant experience working in an Assistant Management Accountant role or equivalent
  • Part-qualified Accountant or working towards a professional qualification, with membership of one of the recognised accounting bodies
  • Have experience of using the accounting software Xero, or other relevant accounting software
