Social Net Zero is a newly-launched division within the integrated communications consultancy Social, which specialises in low carbon and climate change communications.

We exist to help people and organisations establish and communicate their net zero ambitions and aspirations.

By translating complex information into compelling narratives, we help leaders, organisations and their audiences navigate the transition of the energy sector and the UK economy to a net zero emissions future.

With ambitious plans for the division, we are looking for a creative, enthusiastic, self-starter who wants to be part of a can-do culture to join our team.

You’ll be an experienced communications professional, ready to be given responsibility for client accounts from day one. You’ll have the creativity and capability to lead client relationships and deliver great work.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead client contact on a day-to-day basis; from counsel to day-to-day delivery of communications content on behalf of clients
  • Write high-quality media releases and thought-leadership content for multichannel platforms
  • Manage the production of communications material
  • Plan and implement impactful communications strategies and plans
  • Report on, analyse and evaluate communications activities to demonstrate a ROI for clients
  • Assist the director, net zero in the continual development of the Social Net Zero division
  • Research and build action plans for the further development of services offered by the Social Net Zero division
  • Help to shape the growth of the division and be an ambassador for our integrated offering, delivered via our network of offices across the UK

Key qualifications, skills and experience:

  • A passion for storytelling, excellent writing skills and experience of writing bespoke content for different audiences
  • Experience in corporate communications
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working either at another communications agency or in-house
  • Experience or a keen interest in climate change communications
  • Client relationship/project management skills

You will ideally be:

  • A self-starter, who can work independently, whist remaining a key part of a small team and the wider Social group
  • Great at relationship building, at all levels and easy to get on with
  • Passionate about the climate change agenda
  • Organised and able to project manage, to deliver our clients work to a very high standard and to deadline
  • Have ambitions to integrate and ultimately manage a team to support the delivery of your work

What we offer:

Benefits include a competitive salary and annual leave of 30 days (plus bank holidays), which is one of the most generous in the sector. We also offer flexible working and a commitment to training and development.

This post will initially be working from home due to current circumstances. As restrictions ease and as we grow the new business unit we will look towards a mix of remote and office working in the future. We are exploring plans to develop an office for the division in the East Midlands, but are open to discussing working arrangements for the right candidate.

  • Competitive salary
  • Support for flexible and remote working
  • 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Enhanced sickness, compassionate, maternity, paternity and adoption leave
  • Company mobile phone and laptop
  • Pension scheme
  • Support for volunteering
