It’s a new day. Today we are ‘Social’!
We’ve come a long way since I first dreamt of starting the business. And that’s no word of a lie, I had an epiphany. I woke up one morning in 2012 and I knew what I was going to do with the rest of my life. I was going to start my own business and it was going to be called Social Public Relations, dedicated to delivering positive impact, working with developers to help them engage with local communities.
Business boomed, we beat every target I set. We grew in people and clients, so much so that in 2016 we rebranded to ‘Social Communications’ to reflect our increase in range of services and clients that joined us on our journey.
And here we are today, seven years on, an integrated agency with a team of 37 spread across three locations and a turnover of £2.3million. It’s not always been easy, and we have, of course, like any business had to navigate some bumps in the road. But I’ve also had a strong team running alongside me and I’m so proud of our team and what we’ve achieved.
This supportive culture of having each other’s back is what we call this Life Happens. It’s embedded in our values of empathy, courage and ambition. I really believe our success to date is not only down to the great talent and vision that we have but these core values that run through the team. We care about our staff, our clients and society and our Life Happens ethos really goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway – people matter – by creating an environment where people matter, other commitments like ethos, respect, teamwork, passion and care for the environment and society, all happen naturally.
Slowly but surely, we have laid the foundations and I can confidently say that we have come of age and the rebrand reflects this. This is by no means the end of our journey, there is so much more work to come, but it’s exciting and we are looking forward to the future as we grow our team, our roster of clients and compete with the best to deliver positive social impact.
