This year, Social Communications has sent our first contingent to MIPIM – four people in support of six of our Yorkshire and East clients who are part of the Leeds City Region delegation. Whilst that is a positive reflection of the growth of our team here in Yorkshire, more importantly it’s a signal of the good things happening in this region and the Northern Powerhouse more widely.
Over the next few days, we’ll be on the ground in Cannes, as well as providing assistance from our Leeds office, to develop opportunities and support our attending clients with press, events, networking and digital services – and we’ll be on the look-out for new opportunities as well.
What has struck us in the run-up to the 2019 event has been the sense of confidence in the property sector. Despite wider political uncertainty, there has been plenty of good news from our region, with a number of deals and ambitious projects revealed from private and public sector. In just the past few weeks, we’ve seen high-profile events, activities and ministerial visits, showing that Yorkshire is a force to be reckoned with.
As part of our attendance this year, we’ll be taking the temperature of the event, and each day we’ll be highlighting any stories, events and announcements we feel are of particular interest from the Leeds City Region and beyond.
As a case in point, last week we worked with our client SKA Developments to launch an exciting new scheme for the waterfront in Huddersfield – it’s an exciting time for SKA and we’re all looking forward to seeing it as one of the featured projects on the Leeds City Region stand. You can read about it here.
Meanwhile, we’ll also be keeping an eye on some of the other key cities and regions from across the Northern Powerhouse and further afield, to see what they have in store for the year’s biggest property showcase. You can have a look at what Manchester, The Midlands, Liverpool and Newcastle have planned, here.
Please keep an eye out for our Yorkshire region daily digest, which will keep you up to speed with all things MIPIM, whether you’re there or not.
